Head of the Pharm R&D Lab

Resposibilities

  • Availability of suitable rooms, equipment and sufficient qualified personnel in agreement with action medeor and with the Dean of the School of Pharmacy/VC MUHAS
  • Establishment, maintenance and performance of an adequate quality assurance system
  • Overall coordination and supervision of all project activities
  • Plausibility check of all documents of the Pharm R&D Lab
  • Maintain communication with donor, client, authorities and University management
  • Consulting of external institutions in questions of quality assurance of drugs

An adequate qualification of the Pharm R&D Lab results from his professional curriculum. Dr. Kaale studied pharmacy at the School of Pharmacy of MUHAS in Dar es Salaam, obtained his Masters pharmaceutical quality control and Quality Assurance, took his Ph.D. with a thesis on Development and validation of method for analysis of Aminoglycoside antibiotics using capillary electrophoresis at the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium. He is a Senior lecturer teaching pharmaceutical analysis and quality assurance at the School of Pharmacy of MUHAS since 2001. His research work is in the development and validation of analytical methods, interlaboratory cross validation studies and and now interest in the development of solid dosage formulation with focus HIV/AIDS. He is responsibly involved in the preparation of a new curriculum for a master degree of pharmaceutical quality assurance which is provided for its establishment at the school of pharmacy of MUHAS.

Pharmaceutical Technology Laboratory


Head of the PTL is Mr Prosper Tibalinda

Responsibilities of the head of the PTL are:

  • Adequate functional state of laboratory  rooms including equipment
  • Planning of all investigations of the PTL
  • Laboratory specific instruction and supervision of the personnel practically conducting the investigations
  • Supervision of adequate performance of all investigations
  • Interpretation and evaluation of the test protocols and of the resulting test reports and study reports.
  • Assistance of the head of the quality assurance in the conception of the total quality assurance program.

 

Pharmaceutical Analysis Laboratory

 

Head of the PAL is Dr. Vicky Manyanga

Responsibilities of the head of the PAL are:

  • Adequate functional state of laboratory  rooms including equipment
  • Planning of all investigations of the PAL
  • Laboratory specific instruction and supervision of the personnel practically conducting the investigations
  • Supervision of adequate performance of all investigations
  • Interpretation and evaluation of the test protocols and of the resulting reports
  • Assistance of the head of the quality assurance in the conception of the total quality assurance program.

Necessary qualifications of the Head of the PAL are sound knowledge and practical experience in pharmaceutical analysis (e.g. pharmacist/chemist/biochemist)

 

 

 Quality Assurance


Responsible Head of the Quality Assurance (QA) of the Pharm R&D Lab is Ruth Ngwanonogu.

The initiation, conception, performance and improvement of all quality assurance measures (see SOP No  with the assistance by the heads of both laboratories and of Technical support.
Necessary qualifications of the Head of the QA are sound knowledge and practical experience in quality management systems, particularly GMP. Mrs. Ngwananogu finished an education as pharmaceutical technician. She is working in the field of pharmaceutical development and manufacture since year 2008.
